Bitez

The upscale resort town of Bitez in the southern part of the Turkish seaside coast is known for being a favorite destination of the adventurous water lover as well as the more laid-back traveler looking for rest and relaxation.
The bay area is afloat with daily tour boats or canoes to take visitors around the locale, usually offering up as well as cup of tea in the afternoons or a cool beer on the journey. The more active guests may try their hand at windsurfing and sailing on the seas, which with the push and pull of mild onshore winds on the bay waters, is an absolute pleasure.

The beaches at Bitez are easily accessible from the village, with jetties that jut out from shoreline for ease of access to those inclined to begin swimming and sunbathing on its wooden planks.

The area also goes by another name, that of Agaçli, which means full of trees. It is no surprise that the area constitutes part of the main citrus growing area on the peninsula.

Beyond the sandy beaches of the area, there lie acres of lush citrus groves abloom, as tended by generations of local farmers. It is no wonder that the paths shaded by the groves running between the village proper and the seaside are wonderful venues for morning strolls. Visitors in this area may even expect a welcome at the village tea house by the friendly local people.

The resort town comes alive as the sun goes down—with its myriad of cafes and restaurants buzzing alive with nightlife and sumptuous seafood. There are market stalls and small restaurants open late into the evening making a picturesque holiday setting.

Visitors wanting to travel back in time are invited to Ephesus, one of the most famous archaeological sites of the ancient world. Pamukkale, on the other hand, is famous for its hot mineral water baths, whose source is the headwater that flow down the mountains, to form snowy white pools at the foot.
