Dalaman

Situated on the southeast corner of Turkey’s Aegean coast, the village of Dalaman is nestled in between the stunning vistas of the sea and pine-covered mountains.

Dalaman is known for its international airport (Dalaman Airport) serving as an important main gateway to the slew of tourists from all over the world who visit this part of Turkey every year. Usually visitors coming to Dalaman Airport are heading to seaside resorts on the west and east such as Marmaris, Fethiye, Köyceğiz, Dalyan, Ölüdeniz and Hisarönü.

Despite the locations popularity, the natural beauty in Dalaman is uncontested and well-preserved by the locals and government authorities. In fact, the endangered loggerhead turtles which find themselves on the river and beaches have a haven in the village.

The spectacular lakes in Dalaman, particularly the Kapikargin village here, is known as a region of lakes centuries old. The deepest and widest lake in the area is Kocagol, which is a nature reserve for the over 300 rare indigenous flora that thrive in the area. The Dalaman river in fact invites the adventurous for kayaking or river rafting.

Aside from nature lovers, sports enthusiasts are looking to this locale as a getaway for them—with the new marina and golf course currently in development. The stellar waters and sea breezes has also been the reason why the area attracts water sports enthusiasts in particular, including yachtsmen. The gorgeous vast stretch of beach welcomes those wanting a slower pace sunning themselves by the sea. Those interested in historical sites will be able to take a quick day trip to the Dalyan mud baths, visit its many lovely tea gardens or visit the ancient tombs and ruins nearby.
