Calis Beach
The seafront promenade of Calis is the setting for the region of Fethiye’s famous beach locale, in the south-western tip of Turkey.
A more tranquil beach resort close to the airport, the Calis Beach (pronounced as Chalish in the Turkish language) is opposite the equally beautiful Sovalve Island.
A local boat or bus easily accessible from the town can take you right to the center of Calis, in front of the region’s breathtaking waterfront area.
The pebbly coast and fine sand beach stretches far into the Aegean sea along several kilometers, with the usual bevy of hotels, campsites, cafes and bars to cater to the visitors wanting to escape from the daily grind of the cities.
The airy sea breeze blowing towards the shore makes locals enjoy the serene days on the sand at Calis Beach popular when the midday heat and humidity of town centers of Fethiye become warm for those seeking to beat the heat.
Guests are invited to visit the sea turtles that are incubated in the area at Caretta Carettas. For the more active visitor, there is a wide array of water sports that beckon travelers to experience them on Calis’ gorgeous turquoise waters—kite surfing, water skiing, etc. Çalış is very famous for its most beautiful sunsets over the bay and surrounding mountains.
Visit the Scarlett Bar with its upbeat locale entertainment that bring together various cultures for an evening to remember—salsa and traditional Turkish dancing nights. Right on the beach is the Bus Stop Restaurant, with a fantastic sunset view out of its windows for diners.
